Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rayon Sports President Thaddée Twagirayezu has confirmed the club has parted ways with head coach Afahamia Lotfi after three months in charge.
The decision comes a month after the club suspended the Tunisian coach and his assistant, Azzouz Lotfi, on October 13, following an unconvincing start to the domestic league season on top of being eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup.
Twagirayezu said they decided to part ways with Lotfi because the club was not satisfied with his performance in various matches since the beginning of the season.
“We agreed that we must part ways, we are now working on paying what we owe him,” Twagirayezu said.
Haruna Ferouz will remain caretaker coach until a new head coach is hired.
Reports indicate that Rayon Sports will pay Lotfi and his assistant over Rwf25 million in outstanding salary, as stipulated in their contracts.
