Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rayon Sports head coach Robertinho Oliveira has urged his players to put their shock defeat to Mukura Victory Sports behind them and fight hard to win the title race.
Saturday’s defeat to Mukura VS saw Rayon’s lead at the top of the table cut to just one point clear of title rivals APR who beat Vision FC on Sunday through Mamadou Sy’s late winner at Kigali Pele Stadium.
Robertinho admits that time is not on their side as the title race is becoming more intense and they have to reorganize themselves as soon as possible for the remaining games.
“The championship will end very soon and there is not much time. We have to put the defeat against Mukura behind us and fight on,” The Brazilian coach said.
“I think the thing which has changed is the motivation of our players. We continued to play but we missed chances.”
Robertinho admits that Rayon Sports the absence of their top scorer Fall Ngagne whose season ended in March due to an injury has hugely been felt and it has hampered the team’s progress.
“The loss of my top scorer is affecting us. I’m counting on a different player (Abeddy Biramahire) as a striker but it is not his natural position,” he added.
Rayon Sports will travel to Umuganda Stadium on Saturday, April 5, ahead of their crunch encounter against Marines FC.
