Africa-PressRwanda. Rwanda has fully vaccinated 18% of its population against COVID-19, reaching the September global target by the World Health Organization (WHO) aimed at widening vaccination and helping to turn the tide against the pandemic.

“Two million vaccinations is a milestone but the journey continues,” says Dr Daniel Ngamije, The Minister of Health.He further added that the Government of Rwanda is doing the best to acquire the needed vaccines.”We aim to reach 30% of the target population by the end of the year”

According to a press statement released by the Ministry of Health, early Saturday, Rwanda has currently received 3.6M doses of COVID-19 vaccines through various platforms including COVAX Facility, Africa Centres for Disease Control’s Africa Vaccine Acquisition Trust, and bilateral agreements.
