Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda fell short in its seventh matchup at Kwibuka women’s T20 tournament, suffering a 7-wicket loss to a disciplined Tanzanian side at Gahanga Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, June 11.
Despite Rwanda winning the toss to start batting first, the Tanzanian bowlers kept the pressure throughout the innings, limiting Rwanda to just 74 runs before being bowled out.
Defending a low score, Rwanda faced an uphill task in the second innings. Although they managed to take three wickets, Tanzania comfortably chased down the target in just 11.2 overs, finishing with 78 runs.
In the other matches, Zimbabwe cruised to a comfortable 9-wicket victory over Sierra Leone after chasing down a target of 108 with ease, reaching 114/1 in just 16 overs.
Brazil delivered the most dominant performance of the day, overpowering Cameroon by a staggering 112 runs.
After setting a strong total of 156/7 in their 20 overs, Brazil’s bowlers dismantled Cameroon’s batting lineup, restricting them to just 44/9 in 13.4 overs.
Meanwhile, Nigeria edged past Uganda in a tense low-scoring contest. Despite being bowled out for 73 runs, Nigeria’s disciplined bowling effort saw them dismiss Uganda for 68, securing a narrow 5-run win.
