It is the first restored urban wetland in Rwanda, spans an area of 121 hectares, comprising 70 hectares of wetland and 50 hectares of forest, with more than 62 indigenous plant species after being transformed into an ecological park.
Following its rehabilitation, the park has become a haven for nearly 200 bird species that had previously migrated due to wetland degradation. This ecological revival has boosted its appeal, attracting more than 76,754 visitors in 2024, according to park management.

All Rwandan citizens and residents are eligible to apply for a library membership card. To register, a copy of your Rwanda ID or residence permit must be provided.
It offers educational, cultural, and motivational resources available in both digital and print formats with more than 34010 physical books, 613 e-books, and 87 audio books.
4. Canal Olympia
Located in Rebero, Canal Olympia is ideal for movie lovers. During holidays, students can catch the latest films at affordable prices. The open-air amphitheater also hosts occasional shows and concerts, making it a lively weekend option.
The theatre has an indoor capacity of up to 300 people, while its outdoor stage allows for several thousand attendees during concerts and major events.
Every week, the public can enjoy 19 film screenings, with four specifically tailored for young audiences.
5. Imbuga City Walk
This car-free street along KN4 Avenue, a 520-metre corridor in the city center features benches, fountains, skating lanes, and a relaxed urban vibe. It’s popular among students for its central location and open space where they can hang out without spending much.

They offer a variety of programmes, including Inema Yoga Classes every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, providing a fresh perspective on yoga and a deeply relaxing experience. Inema Dancing Classes take place on Thursdays and Sundays from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, where participants learn traditional Rwandan dance. On Saturdays, Inema Painting Sessions invite individuals to explore their creativity —all part of a vibrant lineup of activities.
