National Exams Announce Top-Ranking Schools

Africa-Press – Rwanda. The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has released the official ranking of schools based on their performance in the 2024–2025 national examinations, covering both the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and Ordinary Level (O-Level) examinations.

The announcement, made on Friday, August 29, follows the release of the national exam results earlier this month, on August 19. According to the ranking, several schools across the country registered exceptional performance, with a number of them recording a 100 percent pass rate.

In the O-Level category, out of the 1890 schools, College de Butamwa in Nyarugenge District emerged as the top-performing school. The school had 180 candidates, all of whom passed.

It was followed by other high-performing schools in the same district, including GS Nyarubande (40 students), APACOPE (30 students), College Saint Andre (173 students), Lycee Notre-Dame de Citeaux (172 students), and Kigali Pacifique College (18 students), each maintaining a 100 per cent pass rate.

From Gasabo District, among the top-performing schools included FAWE Girls’ School with 142 students, Glory Academy (68), Institut de Formation Apostolique de Kimihurura (IFAK) with 83, Saint Ignatius High School (145), École Chretienne de Kigali (61), Petit Seminaire Ndera (72), Sinai Academy (32), Hope Haven Christian Secondary School (161), and Riviera High School (8). All achieved a 100 per cent pass rate.

Kicukiro District also featured prominently on the ranking, with Kagarama Secondary School leading with 179 successful candidates, followed by St Vincent Pallotti/Masaka (32 students) and ES Kanombe/Efotec with 192 students, all recording full pass rates.

From Nyanza District, College du Christ-Roi (133 students) and E.SC.L.M Nyanza (132 students) also registered a perfect record.

In the primary section, out of the 3,815 schools countrywide, schools in Nyarugenge District topped the list.

Among them is Star Shine School, Orion School, APADERWA, ESPAK, EP Nyarurenzi, APACOPE, APADR Glory, and ESCAF, all recognized for their outstanding results in the 2024–2025 PLE.

The performance results show that in the O-Level section, two schools in Karongi and Nyabihu disricts recorded a pass rate of zero per cent, while in the PLE the last two schools, one in Muhanga and the other in Nyanza, registered pass rates of 6.82 per cent and 7.14 per cent, respectively.
