Africa-Press – Rwanda. The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) on October 10, announced the schedule for the distribution of certificates for candidates who passed the national exams the Advanced Level of Secondary School in the 2024/2025 school year.
The distribution will begin on October 16 for candidates who completed their studies in General Education and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs), and on October 31 for those from TVET schools.
According to NESA, private candidates will collect their certificates in person from the institution’s headquarters in Kigali upon presenting their original identification cards or passports. School-based candidates, on the other hand, will collect theirs from the schools they attended.
Graduates may also delegate someone to collect their certificates on their behalf, provided the delegated person presents their identification card along with a notarised power of attorney.
School leaders have been requested to collect certificates from NESA starting October 13, in accordance with the set schedule.
The distribution for the certificates distribution plan for general education and TTCs will commence on October 16 in City of Kigali. On October 17, the distribution will take place in the districts of Gisagara and Huye.
On October 20, certificates will be distributed in Kamonyi, Muhanga and Nyamagabe districts. On October 21, the exercise will continue in Nyaruguru, Nyanza and Ruhango.
On October 22, distribution will take place in Rubavu, Rutsiro and Nyabihu districts, while on October 23, it will move to Nyamasheke, Ngororero and Rusizi.
The process will continue on October 24 in Karongi and Rulindo districts. On October 27, certificates will be distributed in Gakenke, Gicumbi and Burera, and on October 28, in Musanze, Bugesera and Ngoma districts.
On October 29, the districts that will be distributed are Kirehe, Kayonza and Gatsibo, while the last phase for general education and TTCs will take place on October 30, covering Nyagatare and Rwamagana.
Certificates distribution for TVET schools
The distribution for TVET schools will begin on October 31, starting with Nyarugenge, Gasabo and Kicukiro districts. On November 3, the activities will continue in Rulindo, Gakenke and Gicumbi.
On November 4, certificates will be distributed in Burera, Musanze and Nyabihu districts. The next day, November 5, it will move to Rubavu, Rutsiro and Ngororero.
Distribution will continue on November 6 in Rusizi, Nyamasheke and Karongi districts, followed by Gisagara, Huye and Nyanza on November 7.
On November 10, the process will take place in Muhanga, Nyamagabe and Nyaruguru districts, while on November 11, it will cover Kamonyi, Ruhango and Bugesera.
On November 12, certificates will be distributed in Ngoma and Kirehe, and on November 13, in Gatsibo and Kayonza. The final day, November 14, 2025, will cover Nyagatare and Rwamagana districts.
The results of the 2024/25 A-Level national examination, released by the Ministry of Education through NESA, show that a total of 106,364 candidates sat for the 2024/25 A-Level exams, including 101,081 school candidates (55,435 girls and 45,646 boys) and 5,283 private candidates.
The overall pass rate reached 89.1 percent, up from 78.6 percent the previous year. Girls achieved an 85.5 percent pass rate, while boys performed at 93.5 percent.
Of the 61,737 students who sat for the General Education, 51,667 passed, recording an 83.8 percent pass rate.
In Technical Secondary Schools, out of 36,141 candidates, 35,393 passed, reaching an impressive 98 percent pass rate.
In Professional Education, among 8,201 candidates, 7,349 passed, reflecting an 89.8 percent pass rate.
