He commended the partnership of the with the Chinese government.

New Kicukiro district hospital

Plans to relocate CHUK to Masaka were announced in 2018.

Masaka hospital was built in 2011, by the Chinese, as the Kicukiro District Hospital. It has the capacity of about 100 beds.

However, according to Minister of Health Dr Sabin Nsanzimana, after the relocation of CHUK, the government will build a new district hospital.

The new CHUK hospital occupying more than eight hectares will include the outpatient and emergency building with the emergency, pediatric and infectious departments in the building.

Technological tools will be introduced in the renovated health facility, including the air compressor room, an oxygen generator station, radiology department, blood bank and laboratory department, central sterile supply department, ultrasound and functional examination rooms, among others.
