Africa-Press – Rwanda. President Paul Kagame on Saturday, April 27, arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a two-day World Economic Forum (WEF) special meeting on global collaboration, growth and energy for development to address the most pressing issues on the global agenda.

The Head of State will, on Sunday, join other world leaders for a special dialogue hosted by His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman, Village Urugwiro noted in a statement.

Kagame will also participate in the opening plenary session on the “New Vision for Global Development” to discuss how to reignite the momentum on development and economic convergence.

Other panelists expected include President Tinubu of Nigeria, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia, Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, and the CEO of Lazard Group, Peter Orszag. This session will be moderated by Børge Brende, the WEF President.

Rwanda hosts one of WEF’s Centers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution focused on AI and Data Policy.

The network has 16 global centers in the USA, Geneva, Colombia, Germany, Serbia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, and Rwanda.

Rwanda is also a member of the AI Governance Alliance that seeks to champion responsible, transparent, and inclusive design of AI systems.

The country is a member of the EDISON Alliance, designed to foster global digital inclusion, aiming to connect one billion people by 2025 to essential services such as healthcare, finance and education through digital platforms.
