Africa-Press – Rwanda. Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente, on March 8, met with Sahr John Kpundeh, the Country Manager for the World Bank in Rwanda. Their discussion highlighted the commitment to enhancing collaboration across different sectors to promote the country’s development agenda.
Reflecting on over 60 years of robust partnership, Kpundeh highlighted the range of support provided by the World Bank to Rwanda’s national priorities. With a portfolio exceeding $3 billion, the partnership’s critical areas include human capital development, infrastructure enhancement, urbanisation, healthcare, and education.

Kpundeh elaborated on the World Bank’s strategic approach, emphasising a forthcoming partnership strategy aligned with Rwanda’s evolving priorities.
In response, Minister of Finance Uzziel Ndagijimana expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved in key intervention areas such as infrastructure, energy, agriculture, social protection, education, and climate resilience.
Furthermore, Ndagijimana pointed out that the fruitful cooperation underscores Rwanda’s commitment to leveraging external partnerships for general development and inclusive growth.
Looking ahead, both parties reaffirmed their dedication to joining diverse financing sources, including private sector investment, to accelerate Rwanda’s development trajectory.
