Africa-Press – Rwanda. President Paul Kagame and his visiting Senegalese counterpart, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, on Sunday, October 19, joined thousands of Kigali residents for the Car Free Day mass sports event.

The popular bimonthly event attracts people from all walks of life who take part in jogging, cycling, skating, and walking.

Over the years, Kigali’s Car-Free Zone has expanded beyond group calisthenics to include activities such as tennis, table tennis, children’s entertainment, and blood donation drives.

The initiative not only promotes fitness and social interaction but also contributes to reducing gas emissions and fostering a cleaner, greener city.
