Africa-Press – Rwanda. As part of its unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility, SKOL Brewery Ltd has once again partnered with FXB Rwanda to support vulnerable communities, this time with a focus on restoring essential sanitation facilities.
This year’s initiative, implemented in Mataba Cell, Mageragere Sector, Nyarugenge District, is benefiting 185 families through the rehabilitation of toilets and showers. The project aims to promote hygiene, prevent diseases caused by poor sanitation, and improve overall living conditions for residents.
The donation includes vital construction materials such as metal roofing sheets and nails, which will enable families to repair and upgrade their facilities. Beneficiaries will also contribute their own labor, digging, building walls, and sourcing wood and planks to ensure a sense of ownership and sustainability.

Speaking at the event, local authorities from Mataba Cell expressed their deep appreciation for SKOL’s contribution. “This support goes beyond improving sanitation, it protects public health and uplifts our community,” said a local representative.
FXB Rwanda, the project’s implementing partner, emphasized its holistic approach to community development. “Hygiene and sanitation are essential pillars for breaking the cycle of poverty. Together with SKOL, we are enabling families to live with dignity and better health,” stated Eric, a coordinator at FXB Rwanda.
SKOL Brewery Ltd General Manager Eric Gilson reaffirmed the company’s long-standing partnership with FXB Rwanda, noting that in past years, SKOL has supported over 430 individuals, helping them lift themselves out of poverty through its partnership with FXB Village. Furthermore, every year, SKOL continues to provide construction and cleaning materials to around 200 families, reinforcing its long-term commitment to improving living conditions. “Our commitment to social responsibility is unwavering. By continuing to support FXB Village, we ensure that vulnerable families receive the help they need, in line with our sustainability goals,” he said.
This support to the people living in Mataba Cell is yet another example of SKOL Brewery Ltd.’s mission to foster socio-economic development and promote health equity. Through its continued investment in communities, SKOL not only produces quality beverages including Rwanda’s first locally packaged returnable glass bottled water “Virunga”, but also creates lasting impact far beyond its products.
