Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Spokesperson Brigadier General Ronald Rwivanga has tipped a visiting group of students and faculty from the University of Zambia on how Africa can address its security challenges through solidarity, professionalism and timely action.
He interacted with the group through a lecture titled “African Solutions to African Problems: A Case of Rwanda’s Bilateral Interventions in the Central African Republic and Mozambique,” on Thursday, November 20 in Kigali. The students and faculty are in Rwanda for a study tour from November 16 to 23.
Gen Rwivanga briefed them on how Africa can address its security challenges through solidarity, professionalism and timely action.
Rwivanga told the academics that Rwanda’s deployments have helped restore security, protect civilians and support socio-economic recovery, demonstrating that African states can effectively respond to crises when they take ownership.
He also highlighted the importance of partnerships based on mutual respect, operational discipline and a shared commitment to safeguarding African lives.
The delegation was led by Boniface Namangala, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) at the University of Zambia.
Representing the University of Rwanda was Raymond Ndikumana, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Strategic Planning and Administration, while Vincent Sengiyumva, the First Secretary at Rwanda High Commission in Lusaka, also attended.
