Africa-PressRwanda. President Kagame is on Friday, September 24, arrived in Pemba, the capital of Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique as he begun his two-day working visit to the country. On the first day of his visit, President Kagame is expected to address Rwandan troops deployed in Mozambique.

Close to 1,000 members of the Rwanda Defence Force and Rwanda National Police are in the country working with the Mozambican Armed Defence Forces (FADM) and a contingent from the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

The Rwandan joint forces are deployed in Cabo Delgado Province in north-eastern Mozambique, where in collaboration with FADM, they succeeded in liberating several key towns from terrorist groups.

The towns liberated include the terrorists’ former stronghold of Mocimboa de Praia among others. During this visit, President Kagame will also hold a tête-a-tête with his host President Filipe Nyusi followed by a bilateral meeting alongside their respective delegations.

The two Heads of State will also witness the signing of several bilateral agreements and address a joint press conference. On the second day of his visit, President Kagame will join President Nyusi at a Military Ceremony for Armed Forces Day to be held at Pemba Municipal Stadium.
