Africa-Press – Rwanda. President Paul Kagame on Monday, November 11 received a delegation led by the AU Special Envoy for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities, Adama Dieng, who is on a tour of eastern and Central Africa.

Dieng’s regional tour comes about six months after the African Union Commission Chairperson, Amb. Moussa Faki Mahamat, on April 7, announced his appointment as a AU special envoy, in line with avoiding a repeat of inaction observed during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. Faki made the announcement during the 30th commemoration of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
