Africa-Press – Rwanda. President Paul Kagame, on Friday, September 12, arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, ahead of his meeting with Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the Gulf nation, later in the day, Village Urugwiro said.
He was welcomed by Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
The visit comes a day after the Rwandan government condemned the September 9 Israeli strike on Doha, saying it was a violation of international norms and a threat to global stability.

Kagame last met with the Amir of Qatar in February this year in Doha, where they discussed bilateral relations between Rwanda and Qatar and partnership in key sectors.
Rwanda and Qatar have cooperation in various sectors, including defence and security, as well as aviation.
Qatar Airways has a cooperation with RwandAir in passenger and cargo operations. The Qatari carrier has also invested in the ongoing construction of the $2 billion New Kigali International Airport in Bugesera, scheduled to be completed in 2028.
