Africa-Press – Rwanda. GTBank (Rwanda) Plc, a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO), has announced the appointment of Yusuf Ayokunle as its new Managing Director, effective April 23, 2025.
Ayokunle assumes his new role following a successful tenure as Chief Operating Officer at GTBank (Ghana) Ltd., where he served from 2021 to 2025. During this period, he spearheaded major operational and digital transformation initiatives, significantly enhancing the speed and quality of the bank’s service delivery.
Ayokunle began his career with Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (Nigeria) and brings over 15 years of extensive experience in banking operations, financial strategy, and business process optimisation. His professional footprint spans several markets including Nigeria, Ghana and Rwanda.
He is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA), Chartered Stockbroker (ACS), and holds an MBA from Warwick Business School in the UK. In addition, he has completed executive education programs at globally renowned institutions including Harvard University, Stanford, MIT Sloan, and CEIBS.
Commenting on the appointment, Françoise Kagoyire, Acting Chairperson of the Board of Directors, said:

In his acceptance remarks, Ayokunle expressed appreciation for the opportunity and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the Bank’s mandate:
