Rwanda National Police retires over 150 officers

Africa-Press – Rwanda. A total of154 police officers including commissioners have been retired from Rwanda National Police.

Their retirement was announced by the Police on November 10.

The retirees include Commissioner of Police (CP) Denis Basabose, who served as the commanding officer for Task Force Unit.

Six Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) were retired, namely Celestin Twahirwa, Elias Mwesigye, Eugene Mushaija, Tom Murangira, David Rukika and Michel Bayingana, according to the statement.

ACP Twahirwa served as the Commissioner for Planning, Research, and Development, while ACP Mwesigye held the role of Marine Police Commanding Officer.

Also retired are 15 senior officers, 22 junior officers and 96 non-commissioned officers. 13 police officers retired for medical reasons, and one was discharged for other reasons, the Police said.
