Africa-Press – Rwanda. As Rwanda and the world commemorated for the 28th time the Genocide against the Tutsi, citizens and friends of Rwanda living in other countries gathered in different places to honour more than one million victims, on April 7.

In an event organised by the East African Community, members of the community participated in a walk to remember and laying of wreaths at the Commemoration monument, among others, at its headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.

In the same country’s largest city Dar es Salaam, the Rwandan community in Tanzania held a Kwibuka 28 event where Amb. Liberata Mulamula, Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation graced the event and appealed for the arrest and trial of Genocide fugitives.

Members of the African Union also marked the commemoration of the Genocide against Tutsi in an event held at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa.

Other countries in which the Diaspora and friends of Rwanda held commemoration events include India, china, Senegal, Sweden, and USA, among others.
