Africa-Press – Rwanda. Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye is expected in Rwanda today, Friday, October 17, for a working visit to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

The visit is part of a regional tour that will also take him to Kenya. It aims to deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Senegal and the two East African nations.

President Faye and President Paul Kagame last met on August 31 in Dakar, when Kagame attended the Africa Food Systems Forum, a platform for African agriculture and food systems.

Earlier this year, on February 1, the two leaders also held talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and promoting regional security.

Kagame and Faye have met on several occasions, including during the Basketball Africa League (BAL) in Dakar last May, where they attended a game between Senegal’s AS Douanes and Rwanda’s APR Basketball Club.

Rwanda and Senegal have several agreements, including a bilateral air services agreement signed on September 8 to improve air connectivity and boost trade and tourism.

They also collaborate in broadcasting, with the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) partnering with Radio Télévision Sénégalaise (RTS).
