Unity Club Forum Highlights Ndi Umunyarwanda for Unity

Africa-Press – Rwanda. The 18th edition of the Unity Club Intwararumuri annual forum, set for November 8, at Intare Conference Arena, will spotlight the Ndi Umunyarwanda philosophy as a cornerstone of Rwanda’s unity and national identity.

Held under the theme “Ndi Umunyarwanda: Igitekerezo Ngenga cy’Ukubaho Kwacu”— loosely translated as “I am Rwandan: The Guiding Principle of Our Existence”—the forum will take place under the high patronage of First Lady Jeannette Kagame, Chairperson of Unity Club Intwararumuri.

Organized in partnership with the Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement (MINUBUMWE), this year’s edition aims to reinforce constructive dialogue and the spirit of national unity among Rwandans.

Founded in February 1996, Unity Club brings together current and former government leaders and their spouses, to promote unity and peace as foundations for Rwanda’s sustainable development.

According to the organizers, this year’s discussion marks the seventh time the Ndi Umunyarwanda concept has been highlighted as a national philosophy—encouraging citizens of all ages to view it not merely as a slogan, but as a way of life reflecting Rwandan values, mindset, and social behavior.

During the forum, MINUBUMWE will also present the National Unity Barometer 2025, an important tool that tracks progress in strengthening unity and reconciliation across the country.

According to the barometer, the status of reconciliation among Rwandans stood at 94.7 per cent in the year 2020.

The event will be preceded on November 7 by a General Assembly and retreat for Unity Club members, where they will assess achievements in promoting unity and resilience, as well as welcome 20 new members into the organization.

The main session on November 8 will bring together a wide range of participants, including senior government officials, district officials, representatives of civil society, the private sector, faith-based organizations, youth, and Abarinzi b’Igihango, who are champions of unity.
