10 Rwandan Referees Suspended Within One Month over Misconduct

Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Disciplinary Committee of Rwanda Football Federation has suspended ten referees over misconduct, within barely one month, the organization said on December 14.

Latest to be suspended include SIMBA Honoré and GAKIRE Patrick who will spend three months ban as well as their colleagues Kwizera Fils and UGIRASHEBUJA Ibrahim who were suspended for four months effective December 14.

The commission found that Simba Honoré, an assistant referee committed an intolerable mistake in the Primus National League match between Musanze FC and Police FC on December 10, 2021.

In the case of Gakire Patrick, also an assistant referee in the Primus National League. It was found that he made a mistake in a match that opposed Marine FC to Mukura VS&L on December 8, 2021.

For Ugirashebuja Ibrahim, a center referee, the match that cost him suspension is the one that opposed Etincelles FC to AS Kigali on December 12, 2021.

KWIZERA Fils who was a referee in the men’s second division Championship match between Intare FC and The Winners FC on December 12 is also said to have made a mistake that earned him a ban. This comes after Ferwafa suspended other 6 referees last month on same case.
