Africa-Press – Rwanda. The 2025 Handball Heroes Cup will attract fourteen teams from across the country.
Scheduled to take place from Saturday, January 18 to Sunday in Gicumbi District, the competition will feature teams in both the men’s and women’s categories.
In the men’s category, the teams will first play a group stage round. The four teams that will make it out of the two groups will proceed to the semi-finals where the two finalists will be decided. The final will then take place to establish the winner.
In the women’s category, the teams will be playing in a robin round format where the top two teams will reach the final.
Last year, APR Handball Club won their record fourth Heroes’ Day Cup after narrowly overcoming Police 26-24.
In the women’s category, Kiziguro won the trophy after beating Three Stars, ESC Nyamagabe and Falcons on a round-robin basis.
