Africa-Press – Rwanda. The 2025/26 season of Rwanda Premier League will commence on August 15, Rwanda FA announced on Monday.
The new season will be preceded by the FERWAFA Super Cup on August 2 between Rwandan champions APR FC and Rayon Sports who finished the 2024/25 season as runners-up both in the league and Peace Cup.
According to the new season calendar, first round of the league will run through December 14 while the second round will start on January 4 and close on May 15, 2026.
Peace Cup will start from November through May 1, 2026 while Heroes Cup will be held from January 28 to February 1, 2026.
There are 16 clubs confirmed for the 2025/26 top flight league season namely: APR FC, Rayon Sports, Police FC, SC Kiyovu SC, Marines, Bugesera FC, Rutsiro FC, Mukura VS, Etincelles, AS Kigali, Gasogi United, Gorilla FC, Amagaju FC, Musanze FC and two promoted teams Gicumbi FC and AS Muhanga.
