Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda FA President Fabrice Shema Ngoga has rewarded Amavubi players and coaches bonuses amounting Rwf40m after beating Zimbabwe 1-0 in Johannesburg on Tuesday, September 9.

Each of Amavubi’s 40-member contingent of will pocket $700, equivalent to 1,019,274.20 million, totaling Rwf40,770,968 overall.

This money, which the players received on Wednesday morning, was from Shema’s pocket. The players will get an additional Rwf1,500,000 in bonuses that they normally receive when they win a competitive match.

Shema also assured Amavubi players and coaches that they will soon receive unpaid bonuses and allowances amounting to Rwf75 million.

Rwanda’s victory over Zimbabwe kept them in fourth place in Group C with 11 points, level with Nigeria who were held by South Africa to a 1-1 draw in Bloemfontein.

Bafana Bafana remain top of the table with 17 points, followed by Benin with 14 points.

Rwanda will play their final qualification fixtures against Benin in Kigali on October 6 and South Africa, on October 13.
