Africa-Press – Rwanda. Forwards Memel Dao and William Togui scored in either half to help APR FC beat Mlendege of Zanzibar 2-0 on Saturday, September 6, at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium to secure second win in the group stage of the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania.
The Black and White were the better side in the early stages of the encounter which ended with another clean sheet.
Togui opened the scores in the 31st minute to give the Rwandan side a lead, thanks to the assist of Hakim Kiwanuka.
Three minutes after recess, the Rwandan champions scored the second goal through Memel Dao after a nice assist from Kiwanuka who had a good day on the pitch.
The win moved Adel Abderrahim’s side at the top of Group B with six points and earned a spot into the quarterfinals.
APR FC will cap off their group stage campaign against KMC on Monday at 15:00 Kigali time.
