Africa-Press – Rwanda. APR FC will face Al Hilal Omdurman once again in the CECAFA Kagame Cup semifinals scheduled for Saturday, September 11, at 11: 30a.m CAT.

The match was initially scheduled for Friday, September 12, 11: 30a.m CAT but it was later pushed 24 hours later.

Al Hilal qualified for semifinals after finishing top of Group C with five points. In the last match, they defeated Kator of South Sudan 3-1, which moved them level on points with Mogadishu City of Somalia, who defeated Al Ahly Madani 2-1. They stayed at the summit on goal difference.

This is the second consecutive time that Al Hilal and APR FC have met in the semi-final last year when APR FC won 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw.

The Rwandan champions could be without their star defender Clement Niyigena who suffered a problem on his leg during their final group game KMC. He started light training but it remains unclear whether he will be back in time for the semifinals.

APR FC will be boosted to have four players in Claude Niyomugabo, Gilbert Mugisha, Omborenga Fitina and Pierre Ishimwe who were on international duty with Amavubi during their 2026 World Cup 2026 Qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
