APR 88–94 MBB

South Africa’s Made by Ball (MBB) avenged their earlier defeat to APR with a 94-88 win on Thursday at BK Arena, securing their second victory in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2025 Nile Conference.

The result snapped MBB’s two-game losing streak and kept their playoff hopes alive, moving them within one win of securing a spot in the June playoffs in Pretoria.

Meanwhile, APR missed the chance to seal early qualification.

Jovan Mooring led MBB with 29 points, supported by centre David Craig, who added 10 rebounds, 9 points, and 2 blocks.

In their previous meeting, APR had dominated MBB 103–81, but this time, the South Africans turned the tide.

After trailing 39-38 at halftime, MBB took control in the third quarter, entering the final stretch with a 67–58 lead.

Key contributions came from Mooring, Teafale Lenard Jr., Robinson Odoch Opong, and Lebesa Selepe.

Despite a spirited fourth-quarter push by APR, including a dunk by Youssou Ndoye and a big three from Obadiah Noel, missed free throws and defensive lapses cost them the game.

With Al Ahli Tripoli (4-0) already qualified, APR and MBB (both 2-2) now battle for the remaining spots. The top two teams qualify directly, while the third-placed team advances only if their record is better than that of FUS Rabat (2-4, -19) from the Kalahari Conference.
