Africa-Press – Rwanda. Power forward Jean-Victor Mukama has joined APR Basketball Club for the 2025 season, crossing over from rivals Rwanda Energy Group (REG).

APR Secretary-General Eric Kalisa Salongo confirmed Mukama’s addition to Times Sport, noting that he signed a deal which will run until the end of the current season.

The 30-year-old boasts experience playing for Rwandan top clubs on top of previously featuring for a host of teams in Canada and the Netherlands.

One of his standout performances of his career so far was in 2019 when he helped the Patriots team secure a spot in the inaugural season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), scoring a game-high 18 points against GNBC in the final game of the qualifiers in Kigali.

In July 2020, he played for the Hamilton Honey Badgers in the Canadian CEBL, averaging 14.1 points and 6.3 rebounds to help the team reach the semifinals. Later that year, he signed a one-year contract with Aris Leeuwarden of the Dutch Basketball League but left in March 2021 after suffering an injury.

In October 2021, he joined Melilla of the Spanish LEB Oro, but his contract was terminated two months later for personal reasons after playing six games for the club, where he averaged 5.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.

In February 2022, he signed with REG for the 2022 BAL season, before joining the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the CEBL in May 2022.

He also participated in the 2022–23 training camp for Raptors 905, though he did not make the final roster.
