Africa-Press – Rwanda. Experienced Amavubi centre-back Emery Bayisenge has said that he joined Rayon Sports to win trophies.

The 30-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Blues last week and is confident he can make a good contribution as the club eyes silverware.

Rayon Sports finished second in the 2024/25 Rwanda Premier League, behind champions APR FC.

“Every player dreams of winning trophies and leaving a legacy with their team. I was able to do that with APR, and now my focus is on doing the same with Rayon Sports,” he said.

The club began preparations for the 2025/26 season on July 1, with the squad currently undergoing double training sessions daily. The team is also gearing up for the CAF Confederation Cup.

“This is a good time for me to return to my best form. I feel strong and ready to compete at a high level again,” he noted.

Bayisenge began his career at Isonga FC before moving to APR FC. He has since played for top sides including Gor Mahia (Kenya), AS Kigali, KAC de Kénitra (Morocco), USM Alger (Algeria), Gasogi United, and Saif Sporting Club (Bangladesh).
