Bayisenge Joins Rayon Squad for Singida Clash

Africa-Press – Rwanda. Experienced center back Emery Bayisenge is part of Rayon Sports squad that travelled to Dar es Salaam ahead of Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup second leg clash against Singida Big Stars at the Azam Complex Stadium.

Rayon Sports were defeated 1-0 in the first leg in Kigali and lost star striker Asman Ndikumana to a shoulder injury. It is a big blow that Afahmia Lotfi will be looking to turn the result around in Dar without the Burundian.

Bayisenge is back after 3 weeks out with injury and doctors confirmed that he’s fully fit and ready to play the return leg which Rayon must win with margin of two goals if they are to progress to the next round.

The club is trying to recreate their spectacular moments of 2018, by returning to the competition’s group stages for the first time since then.

For the first time, the CAF competition will feature 120 teams, including 62 in the CAF Champions League and 58 in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The teams that emerge from the first qualifying round this year will each receive $100,000 (about Rwf144 million) aimed at helping them prepare for the competition.
