Bisengimana Asserts Gicumbi FC Will Remain in Top Tier

Africa-Press – Rwanda. Gicumbi FC new head coach, Justin Bisengimana, has warned rivals against underrating his team as he bids to build a strong side ready to fight to stay in the topflight league.

Bisengimana, who was appointed new head coach of Gicumbi on a one-year deal, assured the club supporters that the team he is building will be ready to play in the Rwanda Premier League for many seasons.

“I know teams from the second division struggle in their first season because of many factors, but I want to build something strong, which is to remain in the top division,” he said.

“I want first to build a strong side which can put legacy in Gicumbi District and my expectation is to produce good results in first season. I want to build a good team that can win many points especially in home games.”

Gicumbi were promoted back to top tower football level after four seasons in the second division. They were promoted alongside second-place AS Muhanga, which recently appointed Mousa Gatera.

Bisengimana said he wants to keep players who promoted the team and add some new faces which can make an immediate impact at the club.

Bisengimana also previously coached Etoile de l’Est, Sorwathe in the second division before serving as assistant coach at Police in the top-flight league. He also coached Bugesera, Rutsiro, and Sunrise.
