Bonney anticipates better version of Vision FC in second round

Africa-Press – Rwanda. Vision FC defender Stephen Bonney says he and his teammates have worked assiduously, in an effort to form a team ready to deliver better results during the second round of the 2024/25 Rwanda Premier League.

Vision FC, who find themselves in the relegation zone in 15th place with 12 points, return to action on Thursday, February 6, when they take on Gorilla FC at Kigali Pele Stadium

Bonney admits it has not been quite a good first round of the campaign but he hopes Vision are a much better side after reinforcing their squad with new signings with whom they seek to begin the second round on a bright note with a win over Gorilla FC.

“Well, we are very organized and preparations for the second round (of the league) have been great. We believe in the impact that the new players are bringing to the club,” Bonney told Times Sport.

“We are well focused mentally and physically. We are ready to take the 3 points against Gorilla on Thursday and we shall deliver.”

With the second round of the league now around the corner, Vision FC have an objective to stay in the Rwanda Premier League and Bonney is optimistic they can achieve it no matter what.

“We will fight to maintain our topflight football status and I strongly believe we have what it takes to do that,” he said.

The league newcomers will be aiming for a revenge against Gorilla FC who beat them 1-0 in their opening fixture of the season on August 15, courtesy of a 95th minute goal from Yves Mugunga.
