Africa-Press – Rwanda. Bugesera FC has written to Ferwafa asking for the postponement of their premier league first match against Kiyovu Sports from Friday 19 to Sunday 20.

The club president Jean Claude Gahigi, wrote to the Rwanda Football Federation, requesting to postpone their first league tie so as to bury Gahigi’s father whose funeral will take place on Friday, 19th.

“We write this letter to ask you to change the date of the league match between Bugesera FC and Kiyovu Sports which is scheduled for Friday, August 19, 2022, at the Bugesera stadium and be moved to Sunday, August 22,” Bugesera FC stated in their letter. ”

They added: “The reason why we are requesting to change the date of the match is that the president of Bugesera lost his father and will be buried on that day, so the staff and players of Bugesera want to condole with him.”

In an interview with Times Sport, Ferwafa spokesman Jules Karagwa confirmed that they received Bugesera’s request but haven’t decided what to do.

“Yes Bugesera requested to postpone their match against Kiyovu Sports but we’re still discussing internally on what to do,” Karagwa said.
