Africa-Press – Rwanda. The 2026 CAVB Zone V Club Championship for both the men’s and women’s categories could return to Uganda, Times Sport has learnt.

Kenya had initially been selected to host the regional club volleyball tournament, scheduled for February 8–16, but later lost the hosting rights after the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) raised concerns over inadequate logistical preparations.

CAVB Zone V Club Championship 2026 will take place in Uganda.

A source confirmed to Times Sport that discussions between CAVB and the Uganda Volleyball Federation are at an advanced stage, with Kampala poised to host the tournament once again after successfully staging the 2025 edition.

Rwanda’s APR won both the men’s and women’s titles at the last championship.

“The change of host is also expected to affect the tournament dates, with new schedules to be communicated in due course,” the source said.

Zone V—the largest of all continental volleyball zones—comprises 12 member countries: Burundi, Eritrea, Djibouti, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Somalia, and Egypt.

The upcoming tournament will mark the fourth edition of the Zone V Club Championship, following previous editions hosted in Kigali (2019 and 2023) and Kampala (2025).
