Africa-Press – Rwanda. APR FC have been drawn in Group B of CECAFA Kagame Cup 2025 alongside Ugandan side NEC FC and Bumamuru FC of Burundi and Zanzibar’s Mlandege FC.
The Rwandan champions APR FC will again represent Rwanda at the regional club football competition looking to win it for the fourth time. In 2024, they finished as runners-up after losing to Zambia’s Red Arrows on penalty shootouts in the final held in Zanzibar.
The tournament will run from September 2-15 in the Tanzanian capital of Dar es Salaam, bringing together 12 teams across the countries in the CECAFA zone.
CECAFA Competitions Director Yusuf Mossi, who conducted the draw in Nairobi on Thursday morning, said the competition will take place at the Azam Complex, Chamazi, KMC Stadium and the Major General Isamuyo Stadium.
While the trophy and the prize money will be up for grabs, the competition will also help some participating teams in the region to prepare for the 2025/2026 CAF competitions which kicks off next month.
