Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda have been paired against Djibouti in the first qualifying round of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) which will take place in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania from February 1-28, 2025.
Rwanda last participated in the tournament in 2020 in Cameroon where they reached the quarter finals. They will be looking to return to the continental soccer fiesta which is exclusively for players from domestic league after missing out on the 2022 edition in Algeria.
Amavubi will travel to Djibouti City for the first leg between October 25-27 with the return leg in Kigali set between November 1-3.
The winner from the preliminary round will face South Sudan or Kenya in December for a ticket to the finals.
Rwanda has featured at the CHAN four times since its inception. The country’s best performance in 2016 in Kigali and 2020 in Cameroon where they finished in the quarterfinals.
