Azomco’s redemption in the league continued on Wednesday when Point guard Damaria Franklin scored a game high 30 points to help the minnows achieve a stunning 71-59 win over United Generation Basketball Club (UGB) at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium.
It was the second league victory of the season for Daniel Monibe Lino Todo’s side which had failed to win a single game since the beginning of the league campaign in January until Sunday, March 23, when they stunned Kepler 89-87
UGB took the first quarter 17-16 before AZOMCO responded quickly to claim the second quarter 16-10 to lead the game with 32-27 at the break.

Center Mohamed Doumbya got his side up and firing, but Azomco kept leading the game despite narrowly losing the third set 19-20. They then came back into the final quarter looking very organized defensively and aggressive offensively, and went on to win last quarter 20-12.
Franklin added 11 rebounds to his 30 points while other big contributors to Azomco’s win were Richard Bizimungu and Blaise Mugisha who scored 16 and 11 points respectively.
In another game played on Wednesday, Tigers beat Kepler 76-54. It was the latter’s second defeat in a row after Sunday’s 89-87 defeat to AZOMCO.
