Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwandan coach Vincent Mashami arrived in Tanzania on Tuesday, August 5 to begin his job as new head coach of Dodoma Jiji FC.
Mashami will sign a one-year contract with the Dodoma-based team to replace Mecky Maxime who was dismissed at the end of the season over poor results.
Last season, Dodoma Jiji team finished 12th out of 16 teams playing in the Tanzanian Premier League. The club has now tasked Mashami to finish in the top six places in the league.
Mashami previously coached various teams in Rwanda like Isonga FC, APR FC, Bugesera FC and Police FC. He was also the coach of the Rwandan national team “Amavubi.”
He won the league title with APR FC as well as the Peace Cup and Super Cup with Police FC.
As coach of Amavubi, he qualified Rwanda for the quarter-finals of the 2020 CHAN, becoming the first coach to achieve this feat away from home.
Mashami parted ways with Police at the end of the season after spending three years.
It is expected that the coach will be unveiled in the coming days.
