Africa-Press – Rwanda. Elijah Ani scored a hat-trick as Police FC cruised to a 4-0 win over Gorilla FC in the Rwanda Premier League (RPL) at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Saturday, January 3.
Ani struck in the 11th and 37th minutes to give Police a comfortable lead at the break. Midfielder Leonard Gakwaya added the third goal in the 52nd minute before Ani completed his treble in the 79th.
The victory took Police to 32 points, keeping them top of the table after 14 matches. It also marked a return to winning ways following their first defeat of the season against Bugesera last week.
Gorilla showed more intent in the second half but failed to turn possession into goals.
Elsewhere, AS Kigali edged Etincelles 1-0 in Rubavu, with Didier Ndayishimiye scoring the winner in the 68th minute.
Action continues on Sunday as Rayon Sports host AS Muhanga at Kigali Pelé Stadium, while Mukura VS face Rutsiro at Kamena Stadium.
