Africa-Press – Rwanda. APR FC and Police FC will lock horns in the 2024 FERWAFA Super Cup crunch encounter Saturday, August 10, at Kigali Pele Stadium.
APR won the 2023/24 league title on an unbeaten record while their Police FC lifted the Peace Cup after defeating Bugesera FC 2-1 in the final.
Having previously won the Rwanda Super Cup three times in 2002, 2016 and 2018, APR FC will be seeking the fourth trophy against Police FC who have not won it before, having last featured in the same season curtain raising game in 2016.
Aside from the trophy at stake, the match between the two Rwandan representatives at the coming CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup campaigns, serves as a curtain raiser for the new top tier league season. The 2024/25 league will kick off on August 14.
APR lost the 2023 Super Cup, following a 3-0 humbling at the hands of arch rivals Rayon Sports.
