Fiston Mayele Scores Twice in Pyramids Win Over APR

Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwandan champions APR FC conceded twice in the second half to lose to Egyptian giants Pyramids FC 0-2 in the first leg of the first round tie of their CAF Champions League encounter at Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Striker Fiston Mayele scored in the 49th and 86th minutes respectively to give Pyramids an upper hand ahead of the second leg which will take place in Cairo, Egypt on October 8.

The first goal came after Mayele beat the APR defence to send a fine shot past the goalkeeper to give the visitors the lead.

For the second goal, Mayele picked up posession from APR players, and didn’t make a mistake as he beat goalie Pierre Ishimwe once again.

APR had their own chances too, for example, in the first 30 minutes, they seemed to have an upper hand in the midfield but failed to make any impact.

APR forwards Mamadou Sy and Denis Omedi had chances to score but their efforts went wide.

The Rwandan club now has an uphill task in the second leg where they will need to score three goals and avoid to concede in order to progress to the next round.
