Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Gasabo Primary Court will Friday, September 18, begin a pre-detention hearing in the case of former Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) Secretary General Adolphe ‘Camarade’ Kalisa.

On Tuesday, September 16, Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) and Rwanda National Police have launched investigations into Kalisa and national team ‘Amavubi’ kit manager, Eric Tuyisenge, who were arrested over alleged embezzlement, corruption, and forgery.

“He (Adolphe ‘Camarade’ Kalisa) is scheduled to appear before the court tomorrow (Friday). The hearing will determine whether the court will order his provisional detention, » National Public Prosecution Authority Spokesperson, Faustin Nkusi told The New Times.

Reports of Kalisa’s arrest first surfaced a week ago, linking him to the alleged embezzlement of FERWAFA funds during his time in office.

He served as Secretary General of the federation from August 2023 until the executive committee, led by former president Alphonse Munyantwali, completed its term in July.

Kalisa also previously served as Secretary General of APR FC.
