Africa-Press – Rwanda. The future of APR FC head coach Thierry Froger will be decided at the end of the season, according to club Chairman Col Richard Karasira

The experienced French gaffer has guided the army side to their fifth league title on a row with three games to spare but his relationship with the fans has not been a good one to the point that he was booed on various occasions coupled with calls to sack him.

Some were not convinced by his team selection but the management made sure the Frenchman maintain his authority on who should start under nobody’s influence.

The relationship went from bad to worse when the fans’ turn up at the stadiums, which was commendable at the beginning of the season, started to fade, especially during the second round of the league.

Asked about Froger’s future, Karasira told the press that the management will assess his performance and decide whether he will continue with the team or not when the season ends.

“We have an agreement with the coach (Thierry Froger). After the league concludes, we shall sit down and see whether he has done well enough to continue with the team or not,” Karasira told the press in a post-match interview.

“We have spent many weeks on top of the table and Froger has done a lot. When assess him, you also need to reflect and see if you gave him the players he wanted,” he added

The APR boss further outlined the plans of the club for next season as they hope to bring in new players.

“We have winning mentality and we want to win always. On the players whose contracts are ending, we shall sit with them and, if we are convinced that they deserve extension, we will extend their contract. We will also bring in new players.”

“Concerning the CAF Champions League, we are going to prepare well for it and make a good impact.”

APR FC will face Gasogi United, Gorilla FC and Amagaju FC in their three final fixtures of the league this season.
