Africa-Press – Rwanda. Ghanaian attacking midfielder Richmond Lamptey has left APR FC after just one season to join Libyan side Al Ittihad Misurata SC on a one-year deal.

Lamptey featured in only eight league games last season without scoring or assisting. APR confirmed his departure in a short statement:

“Thank you, Lamptey Richmond. We appreciate your time, effort, and commitment to APR FC. Best of luck on your next journey.”

Lamptey arrived in Kigali with a strong reputation, having been part of Ghana’s squad at the last Africa Cup of Nations. APR reportedly paid $150,000 to secure him from Asante Kotoko, but he now departs for Libya in a move worth $50,000.

Currently traveling from Dar es Salaam to Kigali, where APR participated in the Kagame Cup, Lamptey is expected to head home to Ghana before beginning his new chapter in North Africa.

Meanwhile, Rwandan international Samuel Gueulette has extended his stay with Belgian First Division side RAAL La Louvière until 2029. The 25-year-old midfielder, who previously played for Tubize and Roeselare, helped La Louvière earn promotion in 2023 before suffering an injury setback.

The club expressed confidence in his recovery and future contribution by offering him a new four-year deal.

Elsewhere, Rayon Sports strengthened their attack this summer with the signing of Gabonese striker Coralie Ngwema.
