Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rayon Sports continues to struggle for form as they were held to a 1–1 draw by Gicumbi FC in a Rwanda Premier League match played on Saturday, November 29, at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
Jean-Pierre Rubuguza put Gicumbi ahead in the 61st minute with a powerful strike from inside the penalty area as goalkeeper Yves Mugisha failed to save it.
Rayon Sports leveled the score in the 84th minute through substitute Asman Ndikumana who returned to action last week after injury. The Burundian striker came off the bench to head home a well-taken free kick from Tony Kitoga.
The result extends Rayon Sports’ winless run to three matches in a row. They now sit in fifth place with 14 points, while Gicumbi FC moved to 12th place with nine points.
Blues midfielder Richard Ndayishimiye was named man of the match, receiving a prize of Rwf 100,000.
In other matches, Gasogi United kept their form with a narrow 1-0 over Amagaju FC lost 1–0 while AS Muganga traveled to Rubavu to beat Rutsiro FC 1–0 at Umuganda Stadium.
