Africa-Press – Rwanda. Handball fraternity family will be buzzing with excitement ahead of Friday’s men’s senior handball Africa Cup of Nations draw at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
The 27th edition of the continental tournament will take place in the Rwandan capital city from January 21-31, 2026, with hosts Rwanda and 15 other top squads set to vie for continental glory.
The draw ceremony will be graced by Confederation of African Handball first Vice-President Medhat El-Beltagy who arrived in the country on Wednesday, November 12.
Participating countries include Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Cape Verde, Guinea, Morocco, Angola, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Rwanda, Benin, Kenya, Zambia, Uganda.
Locked in Pot 1 with powerhouses Egypt and Tunisia, Algeria will be ready for epic clashes that could light up the court – seven-time champs.
The countries were put in the following pots:
Pot 1: Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Cape Verde
Pot 2: Guinea, Angola, Morocco and Nigeria
Pot 3: Cameroon, Congo, Gabon and Rwanda
Pot 4: Benin, Zambia, Kenya and Uganda
