Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda U20 booked the ticket to the final of the IHF Trophy Africa/Zone V after beating hosts Uganda 45-33 in the semifinal match held at Old Kampala Sports Arena on Friday.
Rwanda, started the match strongly against the hosts as went on to finish the first half leading 21-15.
The team continued where they started off in second half and extended their lead to 12 goals to edged Uganda out and set a final date against Kenya on Saturday.
Rwanda will need to improve their performance against the Kenyans who beat them 32-29 in the group stage on Thursday.
Elsewhere, Rwanda U18 again fell short at the of Kenya who beat them 36-26 in the semifinal. The first half ended 19-07 with favor of Kenya who looked unstoppable in the game till fulltime as they ran away with a victory that powered them to the final.
The Zone 5 women’s youth and junior tournaments of the IHF Trophy Africa will be concluded with finals on Saturday. The tournaments serve as qualification event for the Continental Phase of the IHF Trophy Africa.
