Africa-Press – Rwanda. In a post-match interview, Rayon Sports head coach, Francis Haringingo, talked about his team’s performance and leading the table.

He also gave updates on injured players ahead of the crucial league match against Musanze on Sunday, November 27, at Ubworoherane Stadium.

The Blues beat the City of Kigali sponsored club (AS Kigali) 1-0. Andre Onana scored the lone goal of the match.

The Burundian gaffer was pleased with the win against AS Kigali because they played against a well organized opponent and managed to get all three points, beside having played more than 15 minutes one man down due to Felix Ndekwe’s red card on the 76th minute.

“Today I’m extremely happy and proud of the team for the win,” Haringingo said.

He added: “The game was very difficult because AS Kigali is our direct opponent, so we had to play very well and pay attention to very detail.

“We created a lot of chances although we managed to score one goal and I think we were the better team before getting a red in the final 15 minutes of the game.”

The ex-Kiyovu Sports, Mukura and Police FC manager also gave verdict on Ndekwe’s red in the crucial minutes of the match.

He said: “A player like him (Ndekwe) shouldn’t get such a red card of throwing the ball away, it’s a silly mistake and we will try to correct it.”

On leading the table, Haringingo said that he is pleased with returning on the top of the table after losing the top spot to rival Kiyovu Sports three weeks earlier.

“Of course everyone is happy to retain our first place on the league table. We know the journey is still very long but we’re also developing and growing everyday as a team,” the Burundian tactician said.

The former Kiyovu man also gave updates on injuries ahead of crucial league game against Musanze FC at one of the countries most difficult stadiums to play on.

“The away match against Musanze will be very tough, but we’ll try to win there and correct all the three points.”

“We expect to retain Eric Mbirizi because he started training early this week after a month of injury, so we’ll assess his progress and he if we can add him into the travelling squad.”

“Adolphe (Hakizimana) is sick and he is recovering, so we will see if he will be ready before Sunday.”

Musanze FC’s head coach, Frank Ouna, and assistant Mourice Nshimiyimana are set to miss the match when they hosts Rayon Sports, on November 27.
