Hatumimana Extends Stay as Police WVC Coach

Africa-Press – Rwanda. Veteran coach Christian Hatumimana will stay on as Police VC head coach until 2027 after penning a two-year contract extension with the club.

Hatumimana signed a new contract after helping the club win the national women’s volleyball league after beating APR WVC in the finals in June.

His extension follows that of club Iris Ndagijimana who also signed a two-year contract extension with the law enforcers on July 18.

“I feel like there is unfinished work with Police WVC. That’s the only reason behind this extension. Last season was my first league title, so that made me feel aggressive for another trophy and even standing on the regional podiums,” Hatumimana told Times Sport after signing the deal.

From leaving the offices of Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB), where he served as Executive Secretary, to embarking on coaching career, Hatumimana joined Police WVC in 2023 on its maiden season. During his spell to date, he helped the club win the league title for the 2024/25 season.

In the same season, he secured three more trophies, including the Heroes Cup, the 2025 Genocide Memorial Tournament and the Liberation Cup.
